Desarma, Ó Balcão, Sála and Two Monkeys formed the new one-star group listed in the February archive.

A restaurant guide’s annual ceremony is a snapshot, not a permanent status. WAYFARER’s February 2024 Portugal report recorded four first-time one-star names within the edition presented in Albufeira.
Desarma, led by Octávio Freitas, and Ó Balcão, led by Rodrigo Castelo, appeared in the source’s list. Sála de João Sá, with João Pedro Sá, supplied a third name, while Two Monkeys brought together Vítor Matos and Francisco Quintas.
The article gave particular attention to Two Monkeys’ interactive approach. Surprise menus, preparation in view of guests and conversation about ingredients were the elements described, connecting the guide announcement with a more specific dining format.
The report also discussed the absence of a three-star award in that Portugal edition. Those remarks belong to the 2024 assessment and should not be read as a statement about subsequent guide results.
