A concert can determine a destination before a traveller begins to consider a hotel. Marriott Bonvoy’s 2024 Eras Tour campaign approached that sequence directly, connecting its loyalty programme with Taylor Swift’s touring audience.
The announced promotions combined concert access with several forms of travel and accommodation. They were specific campaigns with eligibility rules and closing dates, not a permanent route to obtaining tickets.
The broader proposition was the place of an event within hospitality. A room became one part of a journey organised around something happening elsewhere in the city.
That relationship also changed the hotel’s social role. Activities such as friendship-bracelet making connected guests before the performance, allowing the accommodation to acknowledge their shared reason for travelling rather than treating the concert as unrelated to the stay.
