A railway platform brings people together without making their journeys the same. Nicolas Ghesquière used that condition to frame Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2025 collection at L’Étoile du Nord in Paris.

WAYFARER Brazil’s March 2025 account traced the show’s references through films associated with trains, including Wong Kar-wai’s 2046 and Brief Encounter. The collection imagined different passengers rather than one uniform character: practical commuters, travellers dressed for the outdoors and figures carrying the associations of the Orient Express.

Hand-painted devoré velvet, military jackets and rigid leather luggage occupied the same visual field. A reworked TGV uniform made the railway reference more direct. Kraftwerk’s participation brought another layer, connecting clothing and bags to the group whose Trans-Europe Express had already made rail travel part of a musical vocabulary.

The presentation’s staging also shifted the relationship between models and audience. Models moved to balconies, while images of travellers appeared in the windows. The account belongs to that 2025 show; it is not a report from a later presentation. The collection’s strongest idea was not movement as a generic theme. It was the platform as a place where different lives briefly share a frame, then leave in different directions.
