Breguet Expérimentale 1: precision as a design argument
A magnetic escapement and a 10 Hz tourbillon bring the manufacture’s research into the visible architecture of a watch.

Diamond-pattern stitching provides the connection between a familiar trainer and the interior of a sedan.

A precise detail can connect objects that otherwise have little in common. In the adidas Samba OG collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, that detail is diamond-pattern stitching drawn from the S-Class interior.
WAYFARER’s October 2026 account kept the shoe’s familiar form at the centre. The upper gained the stitched pattern, while the three-pointed star appeared on the tongue. Magic Beige, Grey Five and Black gave the collaboration three monochrome versions rather than a single ceremonial colour.
Mercedes-Benz’s official presentation confirms the collaboration and its planned 13 October release. The project was framed within the company’s 140-year anniversary programme, linking the footwear to a larger sequence of activities.
The useful design question is how much alteration a recognisable object needs. Here, the connection does not depend on turning the trainer into a miniature vehicle. It takes a tactile reference from a seat and gives it another role. The Samba remains a shoe. The S-Class remains a car. One stitched pattern makes their languages briefly meet.
