A 2025 collection used an eighties tailoring register and softer natural fabrics to build a tribute to the Brazilian writer.

A tribute to a writer cannot simply place words on clothing and call the translation complete. Rafael Caetano’s SPFW N60 collection worked through another route, using structure, drape and altered tailoring to reflect on Antonio Cicero.
WAYFARER’s October 2025 report connected the collection with Caetano’s earlier interest in Cicero and Marina Lima’s work. The homage followed the writer’s death in 2024, but this adaptation does not turn the details of that death into the subject of the clothes.
Shoulder pads, geometric cuts and restrained tones supplied an eighties register. Small disruptions changed familiar forms: a lapel continued around the torso, while jacket hems borrowed the appearance of a trouser waistband.
Linen, cotton and silk brought a different motion to shirts, bows and wider trousers. The contrast allowed the collection to hold a defined outline and a less controlled movement at the same time.
The original report noted Mesmo que Seja Eu in the soundtrack, connecting the presentation with the musical context of Cicero’s writing.
The collection belonged to 2025, not a current runway announcement. Its proposition is the difficulty and interest of translation between disciplines. Poetry cannot be converted into fabric word for word, but a designer can respond to its rhythms through the way a garment is constructed and moves.
