Garibaldi: Brazilian sparkling wine on its own terms
Two gold medals put a fruit-led Brazilian approach before a French jury.

A Brazilian introduction to the Veneto producer offers a regional counterpoint to a widely travelled sparkling wine.

A familiar wine category can make its place of origin disappear. Prosecco travels easily as a name; looking at a producer such as Foss Marai brings the conversation back to a particular part of the Veneto.
WAYFARER Brazil’s January 2025 article introduced the label through its arrival on the Wine Trader platform. It located the producer in Valdobbiadene and identified Glera as the grape behind the wine being discussed. The account described floral notes and a lightly mineral finish, observations that belong to that original presentation rather than to an independent tasting undertaken for this adaptation.
The article placed the introduction within a larger story of Prosecco’s international reach. For an editorial reader, however, the useful contrast is not a sales figure or a celebrity association. It is the difference between ordering an entire category and taking an interest in the producer whose name is on the bottle.
Foss Marai’s bottle design was part of the presentation, giving a visible form to that producer identity. The Brazilian distribution mentioned in the source records a moment in 2025, not present availability. The enduring invitation is more modest: let the geographical name matter again. A wine that has travelled far still begins somewhere.
