A gesture can connect craft and sport more precisely than a general claim about elegance. WAYFARER’s July 2025 account of Lorenzo Musetti and Bottega Veneta found that connection in the hand.

The source recorded the Italian tennis player’s appointment as a brand ambassador. It situated the announcement within his professional trajectory, including the 2024 Wimbledon semifinal and Olympic bronze in Paris, without making those results the entire explanation for the partnership.

Musetti had already appeared in Craft is our Language, the campaign celebrating fifty years of Intrecciato. The archive read its emphasis on hands as a bridge between the movements of tennis and the making of woven leather.

That comparison is most useful when it remains specific. A player shapes a stroke through practiced movement; an artisan shapes an object through another trained sequence. The activities differ, but both make technique visible through a physical gesture.

This page preserves the 2025 announcement and does not state Musetti’s current ranking or assume the partnership’s present terms. The editorial proposition is about representation: a sports figure can enter a fashion house’s vocabulary through how he works, rather than through an image detached from the work itself.
