A summer collection need not begin with pale colours. Philipp Plein’s Cruise 2026 presentation in Cannes built its visual argument around midnight black, using the waterfront as a contrast rather than a palette to imitate.

The collection, called Noir Summer Dream, appeared at Carlton Beach Club during the 2025 film festival. WAYFARER’s May archive described a presentation shaped by the setting of the French Riviera and the house’s established appetite for embellished eveningwear.

Crystal-covered mini dresses, decorated leather ensembles and structured gowns formed the wardrobe outlined in the source. Halter necklines added another repeated silhouette. The relationship between dark surfaces and applied crystals gave the pieces their most concrete visual distinction.

The article also placed the presentation within the Plein group’s wider brand structure, which included Billionaire and Plein Sport. It is the clothes, however, rather than the scale of the business, that give this archive its editorial value.

This is an adaptation of the launch coverage, not a hands-on assessment of construction or a current retail selection. Read today, the Cannes presentation illustrates one approach to resort dressing: carry an evening wardrobe towards the sea without asking it to become informal, and allow the location to sharpen the contrast.
