An after-party need not be defined only by what came before it. Room Service’s first Rio editions, described in WAYFARER’s March 2026 archive, gave the format its own architectural setting.

The project occupied the atrium of the Museum of Tomorrow during Carnival. At Praça Mauá, the building and the surrounding port district brought a cultural context into the dance floor, rather than serving as an interchangeable venue.

The source associated the project with Notthesame, Jackson, Maz and Léo Fumagalli. Its two Carnival dates brought together artists including Mochakk, Miguel Llantons, Ahmed Spins and Dennis Cruz, alongside Jackson and Maz. Musical programming and hospitality were treated as parallel parts of the event.

The account followed the transition towards morning as a defining rhythm. The atrium offered a more specific frame for that transition than the idea of a night extended indefinitely. Architecture, timing and the gathering itself supplied the identity.

This adaptation does not claim attendance, announce a forthcoming edition or verify current venue arrangements. The useful archival distinction is between an after-party as an appendage and an event with its own proposition. Room Service was presented as the latter, with the museum becoming part of the argument.
