A train gives a journey a structure that a hotel cannot quite reproduce. The room moves, the landscape changes, and the meal happens between places. Veuve Clicquot’s Solaire Journeys used that structure for a programme announced for 2024.

WAYFARER’s December 2023 account connected the champagne house with four Belmond trains: the Eastern & Oriental Express, Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, Hiram Bingham and Andean Explorer.

Three geographical chapters

The Asian itinerary was announced for April 2024, linking Singapore and Malaysia over three nights on the Eastern & Oriental Express. The European chapter, planned for July, joined Vienna, Reims and Paris aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.

In Peru, an October itinerary connected Cusco, Arequipa and Machu Picchu through the Hiram Bingham and Andean Explorer. The contrast between the routes was part of the concept: one house’s culinary and visual identity would travel through distinct railway landscapes.

The announcement described chef-led meals, champagne and contact with the cellar master’s work. These were components of the historical programme, not availability or inclusions verified for a future journey.

This adaptation is not a booking offer. It records a collaboration in which the transport was more than a means of reaching a destination. The train’s pace, room and dining car became the shared format through which three continents could be read.
