The Brazilian-American Chamber honour became an occasion to discuss reconstruction in Rio Grande do Sul.

An award evening can turn attention towards work beyond the person receiving it. When Alexandre Birman was honoured by the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce in 2024, WAYFARER’s account placed Rio Grande do Sul’s reconstruction within the occasion.
The May archive identified Birman as CEO and CCO of Arezzo&Co at the time. His remarks connected the recognition with a movement involving Abicalçados and the footwear industry, linking a professional community to the region affected by flooding.
Campo Bom, Igrejinha, Novo Hamburgo, Parobé, Roca Sales, Rolante and Três Coroas were among the cities named in the report. That geography made the reference to reconstruction more specific than a general expression of concern.
The dinner included business representatives, public figures and Birman’s family. A video message from Rio Grande do Sul governor Eduardo Leite was also described, connecting the ceremony with the state’s immediate circumstances.
