Silencio at fifteen: a room for several disciplines

David Lynch's Paris interior gave a cultural programme a distinctive home.

A club’s identity is made by what happens in the room as well as by how the room looks. Silencio’s fifteenth anniversary in 2026 returned attention to that relationship.

The Paris address opened in 2011 with interiors conceived by David Lynch. Arnaud Frisch’s programme brought cinema, music, art and conversation into the same setting, allowing the name’s cinematic reference to acquire a practical cultural life.

Later addresses used different designers and responded to different places. That variation resisted the idea that one interior or timetable could supply an identical experience everywhere.

The Paris club’s lasting proposition is therefore a programme rather than a formula. A screening and a dance floor ask different things of a room, but they can share an audience when the place gives people reasons to return and encounter one another.
