A familiar pattern changes when the surface underneath it changes. Missoni and Malfy’s 2024 collaboration placed the fashion house’s zigzag around a bottle of Gin Rosa.

WAYFARER’s July archive described silver details and a presentation box organised around a golden-hour reference. The bottle kept its recognisable format while acquiring another layer of identity through colour and pattern.

The source made a distinction between the packaging and the contents. The design collaboration did not present an entirely new gin formulation; the account retained the grapefruit-associated Gin Rosa as the product inside the changed object.

Missoni Home’s Alberto Caliri and the drinks brand’s marketing team framed the project through shared Italian references. This adaptation paraphrases that positioning rather than presenting their comments as a new interview or endorsement.

Availability dates in the original announcement belong to 2024, and are not current stock information. The design reading remains useful without them: a bottle can become a site for collaboration while retaining its practical function. The zigzag does not need to behave like woven cloth to remain identifiable; its transfer to glass and packaging makes the relationship between brands visible.
