Galvão Bueno: the voice behind the racing memory

A sporting moment often reaches its audience through another person’s voice. Galvão Bueno’s São Paulo conversation on 25 March 2025, moderated by Bárbara Coelho, returned to the improvisations and memories behind that role.

At the Stark Bank gathering, Bueno recalled his early Formula One broadcasts, including an episode at the 1982 South African Grand Prix. The evening also introduced a Monaco 2025 experience organised with the broadcaster.

His account of familiar catchphrases placed their beginnings in the pressure of a live moment rather than in a prepared script. That distinction explains why certain expressions remain connected with the events in which they were first heard.
