The after-party has its own design problem: how to continue an evening without simply repeating it. Room Service’s Carnival 2026 introduction proposed an answer through a setting in the atrium of Rio de Janeiro’s Museu do Amanhã.

The project connected electronic music with attention to comfort and the organisation of the room. Rather than treating the space as a neutral container for a DJ booth, its proposal made hospitality and atmosphere part of the event.

That distinction is especially relevant during Carnival, when the city moves between large performances, crowded streets and private gatherings. An after-party can occupy the interval between those formats.

The premise was not that a smaller encounter had to compete with the main celebration. It could offer another pace, giving the people, music and setting time to establish a relationship of their own.
