The archive collection used a deep blue to connect aluminium luggage, leather accessories and a Shanghai campaign.

Colour changes an object most convincingly when it works with the material. RIMOWA’s Ink Blue collection made that relationship its central argument, giving familiar grooved aluminium a deeper register.
In WAYFARER’s July 2026 archive, the shade joined the Original collection across Cabin, Check-In L and Trunk Plus formats. Its reference was ink, associated with writing, drawing and dyeing. The account described anodisation as the means of carrying colour into the aluminium rather than treating it as a superficial coating.
The campaign followed actress Sydney Lemmon through Shanghai, using aquariums, karaoke rooms and blue-toned settings to connect the finish to a city in motion. The suitcase remained recognisable. What changed was the atmosphere around it.
Ink Blue also travelled beyond the rigid case. The archive recorded Groove crossbody bags in Italian leather, a toiletry bag, denim accessories, packing cubes and an anodised aluminium cardholder. A reversible bucket hat extended the same palette into clothing.
Read together, the pieces showed how a luggage colour could become a broader travel vocabulary without discarding the original material identity. Grooves supplied continuity; blue supplied the variation. These are details of the archived collection, not a statement about present stock or guarantee terms.
