Colour, a clip and engraved details translated automotive references into a writing instrument.

A tribute works best when its references enter the construction of the object. Montblanc’s Enzo Ferrari Special Edition Giallo Modena, described in WAYFARER’s February 2025 archive, approached that task at the scale of a pen.
Yellow supplied the first connection, linking the edition with Modena in the source’s account. Further automotive references appeared in the shape, the clip and the details around the cap, rather than only in a name printed on the surface.
The ruthenium-coated clip carried six lines associated with a twelve-cylinder engine. The upper cap ring referred to Officina Meccanica Alfredo Ferrari, while the Montblanc emblem sat within a metal arrangement read as a car-front reference.
The fountain-pen nib introduced a steering-wheel motif associated with the Ferrari 250 GTO. A yellow notebook and purple ink extended the presentation beyond the writing instrument into a small set of related objects.
This adaptation does not verify edition availability or imply that every historical reference in the promotional source has been independently established. It follows the material design account: an automotive vocabulary translated into a tool for writing, with the change of scale requiring detail rather than a literal reproduction of a car.
