The April 2025 anniversary edition moved between tailoring, music and the public vocabulary of football.

A fashion week reveals a city when it moves beyond one room. São Paulo Fashion Week’s N59 edition, held in April 2025 as part of its thirtieth-anniversary year, placed distinct design languages in distinct urban settings.

WAYFARER’s account followed Alexandre Herchcovitch’s graphic tailoring and Dario Mittmann’s experiments with asymmetric cuts and technical fabrics. At Estação Júlio Prestes, João Pimenta’s deconstructed tailoring was accompanied by a live performance from pianist Jonathan Ferr. The venue became part of the presentation’s rhythm.

Dendezeiro, led by Hisan Silva and Pedro Batalha, drew on Afro-Brazilian religious references, urban culture and the Recôncavo Baiano. Patrícia Vieira’s presentation at Casa Higienópolis used laser-cut leather to question the material’s familiar weight. These were different answers to the same question of how clothing carries a point of view.

Piet’s closing presentation at Pacaembu made another connection. Pedro Andrade’s Farmers League collection brought football, work uniforms and streetwear into a show with live music from Marcelo D2. The article records that particular edition rather than describing the current calendar. Its larger interest is the variety of Brazilian fashion on display: not one national aesthetic, but a set of designers finding their own ways to occupy the city.
