This policy explains how wayfareredition.com, the international edition of WAYFARER, handles personal data. WAYFARER Edition is published by WAYFARER GROUP in São Paulo, Brazil, and we handle personal data in line with Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13.709/2018).

1. What we collect

What you send us. If you write to us by email, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message.

Technical data. Like any website, ours is served by a hosting provider that records technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of request.

Data kept in your own browser. The site remembers your light or dark appearance choice and the stories you save to your reading list. These are stored in your browser only and are not sent to us.

2. What we do not do

This site has no user accounts and no comments. As of the date above, it does not run advertising networks or audience-analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this page before the change takes effect.

3. Why we use data

We use the messages we receive to reply to you, and the technical data to operate, secure and improve the site. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

4. Legal basis

We process data based on your request when you contact us, on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site, and on legal obligations where they apply.

5. Who handles data for us

The site is hosted by Hostinger, which processes technical data on our behalf. Email is handled by our email provider. Both act under duties of confidentiality, and your data may be processed on servers outside Brazil.

6. Embedded content and links

Some stories may include embedded content or link to other websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices and may set their own cookies once you open or play their content.

7. How long we keep data

We keep messages for as long as needed to deal with your request and to meet legal obligations. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period.

8. Your rights

Under the LGPD, and under the law that applies where you live, you may ask us to confirm that we process your data, to give you access to it, to correct it, to delete or anonymise it, to transfer it, or to stop processing it. You may also withdraw consent you have given.

9. How to exercise your rights

Write to hello@wayfareredition.com with the subject “Personal data”. We will reply within the period the law requires.

10. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and we apply technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal or operational changes. The date of the latest update appears at the top of the page.
