The publisher on the guest list
There are two ways to know a closed world: through the shop window, or through the guest list. Gabriel Silveirado has moved through the second for more than a decade, with the ease of someone who never had to ask to come in.
As founder and publisher of WAYFARER, he has built a career on the trust of the people who open the door. It was there with Charles Leclerc during Grand Prix week. On the lawns of Pebble Beach, opposite Rouven Mohr, the engineer behind Lamborghini’s latest generation. And in Monaco on Grand Prix weekend, when the principality turns into a circuit and the harbour into a grandstand.
The story begins in 2013, with an editorial house founded on a thesis that was out of fashion at the time: treat the reader as someone who has already seen the world, because they have. In 2024 the house took the name that had always described it, WAYFARER, one who crosses worlds without asking permission of any of them.
Today the house works on two fronts. Editorial brings together WAYFARER Edition, in English and based in New York, and the original Portuguese-language title. The Agency designs journeys and access to events from what the editors have lived first-hand. Between the two runs one rule that is not open to negotiation: nothing is recommended that has not been known up close, and every partnership is disclosed to the reader.
Much of the year is spent between the newsroom, the assignment and the road. The conviction behind all of it fits on a single line, and he repeats it the way one checks a watch: sophistication is a form of silence.
“True elegance does not raise its voice. It recognises its own.”

Trajectory
From the first issue to WAYFARER
- 2013
The editorial house is founded.
- 2013 to 2023
A decade opening doors that have no bell: Formula 1 paddocks, the lawn at Pebble Beach, the great hotels.
- 2024
The house takes the name WAYFARER. The name changes; the journey does not.
- Today
WAYFARER Edition in English, the original title and the Agency, under one principle.
Principles
Three rules of the house
Curation over volume
Publish less, and better. Every address, every hotel and every name has to earn the space it takes.
Only what has been lived
The editors know a place before they recommend it. When there is a partnership, the reader knows, because it is disclosed.
Sophistication is a form of silence
The elegance that interests WAYFARER has no need to announce itself. It recognises its own.

For journalists and partners
Through the shop window, a closed world lets itself be seen. Through the guest list, it lets itself be told. That is what WAYFARER is for.
