Ibiza 2025: more than one stage for the island

An archival season preview linked an art fair, a restaurant opening and the transformation of a club venue.

An island’s cultural life cannot be reduced to one soundtrack. WAYFARER’s May 2025 preview of Ibiza’s season placed contemporary art and dining alongside the club landscape for which it is widely known.

CAN Art Fair supplied one of the cultural anchors. The account described international galleries and an OFF programme taking installations and exhibitions into other settings around the island. It proposed art as something encountered beyond the main fair room, with local places becoming part of the presentation.

A planned Hell’s Kitchen opening at The Unexpected Ibiza Hotel introduced a different kind of stage. The restaurant translated references from Gordon Ramsay’s television format into a dining environment, including the familiar red and blue kitchen vocabulary. UNVRS, meanwhile, was described through the remaking of the former Privilege venue and a programme of electronic music.

These details belong to a preview written before the season and are not presented as a verified current events calendar. The archive’s useful proposition is its wider frame: an art exhibition, a restaurant and a club offer different ways to read the same island. Ibiza gains depth when none is asked to stand for the whole.
