Bombardier Global 8000: the journey inside the range figure
Beyond maximum speed, the aircraft raises questions about cabin planning, real-world routing and how long-distance travel is organised.
Reportage / Trancoso
From 20 December 2023, Maximilian Davis’s Pre-Spring 2024 palette moved across a Bahia inn, turning umbrellas, loungers and a one-month shop into one seasonal composition.

Ferragamo did not arrive in Trancoso as a shop alone. On 20 December 2023, the house began a seasonal intervention at Pousada Estrela D’Água in which the Pre-Spring 2024 collection moved beyond rails and shelves to occupy umbrellas, sunbeds and cushions. Fashion became part of the inn’s temporary architecture.
The project marked Ferragamo’s first retail presence in Bahia and coincided with Estrela D’Água’s 25th anniversary. Its dates matter. The wider activation ran from 20 December 2023 into the opening of Carnival 2024, while Ferragamo’s official account placed the pop-up store at the hotel until 26 January. This was a summer installation with a defined life, not a permanent boutique.
Maximilian Davis’s Pre-Spring 2024 collection supplied the visual system. The hotel described pastel yellow, orange, brown, pink and blue across the women’s offering, with earthier tones in the men’s line. Ferragamo’s own account emphasised a warm orange floral print. Applied to parasols, loungers and pillows, the pattern changed scale: a motif designed to move on the body became a repeated plane seen across the beach and pool.
That translation was the project’s sharpest idea. A resort collection is already calibrated to travel, weather and informal movement. At Estrela D’Água, it entered the objects that organise a day outdoors. The guest encountered the collection before entering the shop, through shade, upholstery and the repeated colour of the landscape’s human-made elements.
The intervention also avoided pretending that Trancoso was neutral scenery. Estrela D’Água sits on Nativos Beach, where sand, vegetation and Atlantic light set a strong visual register. The activation used natural and locally associated materials in the retail environment, according to the contemporary report, while Ferragamo said the pop-up drew on the surroundings of Trancoso. The collection did not replace that setting. It inserted a temporary layer into it.
The pop-up opened on 26 December 2023 in partnership with Felipe Casas and Namix, the multi-brand store founded by Michelle Jamur. Inside, the product edit connected recognisable Ferragamo lines with Davis’s newer work. The official selection included the Hug and Fiamma bags, the men’s Star Tote and eyewear, alongside a Holiday Capsule built around the Wanda bag, Elina sandals and pumps with the house’s curved or wave heel.
This mix gave the space two tempos. The established objects supplied immediate recognition; the seasonal palette and newer silhouettes located the store in the precise moment of Pre-Spring 2024. A pop-up of this kind has little time to explain itself. The edit therefore had to communicate the house through a few strong forms, then let colour and setting make the experience specific to Trancoso.
The partnership structure mattered as well. Ferragamo brought the collection and international brand language. Estrela D’Água provided a hospitality setting with its own anniversary and relationship to the beach. Namix and Felipe Casas supplied local retail knowledge. Rather than setting a sealed boutique inside a hotel, the three elements produced a temporary circuit between accommodation, landscape and shopping.
Moving a fashion print onto outdoor furniture introduces a practical design question. An umbrella has to cast shade; a lounger remains an object for rest. The motif is no longer framed by a runway or campaign image, but by the changing light and repeated forms of a hospitality setting. That is the distinction visible in the concept, rather than a claim about how individual guests used the installation.
That functional dimension distinguished the project from a conventional window display. The Ferragamo image was not confined behind glass. Its placement on parasols and upholstery moved it into the peripheral view of the beach and pool. The collection’s colours became part of a place already in motion.
With the activation scheduled to end around Carnival 2024, its objects returned to being what temporary installations always are: evidence of a particular season. The value of the project lies in that specificity. It recorded the moment when a Florentine house, a Bahia inn and a local retail partnership agreed that fashion could be read not only on the body, but across an inhabited interior under open sky.
