Louis Vuitton Conquest: rubies in a directional setting

A necklace from the Mythica collection arranged coloured stones and arrow-like forms around the house's travel vocabulary.

A necklace can suggest movement while remaining entirely still. Louis Vuitton’s Conquest used directional shapes and a sequence of rubies to make the eye travel around the piece.

WAYFARER’s May 2026 account placed it within Mythica, a high-jewellery collection organised around the idea of a woman choosing her own route. The name supplied a narrative, while the stone arrangement made that narrative visible.

Red against a sharper geometry

The source described twenty-one cushion-step-cut rubies from Mozambique, totalling 21.87 carats. Diamonds formed arrow-like details, with a Monogram Star-cut diamond marking the centre.

Yellow, white and rose gold introduced separate tones into the sculptural setting, while onyx gave the brighter materials a darker counterpoint. The design relied on those contrasts rather than presenting the rubies as an uninterrupted conventional line.

The archive reported a lengthy search for the stones and more than 1,200 hours of craft work. These were figures associated with the house’s account, not independently measured production records.

Mythica extended beyond the necklace into several themes and types of gemstone. Conquest’s interest is the clarity of its particular arrangement. Travel became a way to organise the design, not simply a story attached after the piece was finished. The specifications described belong to the original collection account.
