The 2023 partnership announcement placed materials and human movement at the centre of a technical garment.
FROM THE WAYFARER BRAZIL ARCHIVE / English adaptation. Date shown is the original publication date.

A spacesuit makes the limits of an ordinary garment unusually clear. Movement, protection and the relationship between body and material cannot be treated as separate decorative choices. Prada’s partnership with Axiom Space introduced fashion manufacturing knowledge into that technical problem.
WAYFARER Brazil’s October 2023 account followed the original announcement of collaboration on the AxEMU suit. Axiom’s own release identified materials, manufacturing techniques and design concepts as the areas in which Prada’s team would work with its engineers.
The source connected that knowledge with Prada’s earlier technical experimentation around Luna Rossa. The useful comparison is not between a runway and the Moon as spectacles. It is between different garments whose construction has to respond to a demanding environment and a moving person.
The archive’s anticipated mission date is not repeated as a current schedule, and this adaptation does not claim that the suit has completed a lunar mission. Nor does it repeat an incorrect assertion that Axiom already operated a commercial station at the time. The project’s interest lies in the design task: a material decision must serve a body under constraints that appearance alone cannot resolve.
Original announcement: Axiom Space, October 2023.
